Job Title:  Unit Manager, Appraisal

Location: Remote role in Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Auto Damage Appraisal Unit to optimize performance by implementing unit-wide training aligned with individual developmental goals.
  • Ensure appraisals are conducted according to service level agreements and comply with internal protocols and external legislative requirements.
  • Oversee and support Mitchell Estimatics, addressing ongoing Mitchell issues and efficiently implementing continuous change management.
  • Liaise with PD Unit Managers to ensure adherence to procedures and provide ongoing support to the PD Team.
  • Conduct quality and administrative audits of files, document findings, and proactively report concerns/issues to senior management.
  • Take accountability for the customer experience delivered by the team, ensuring exceptional internal and external customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Possess post-secondary education combined with comparable experience in the automotive collision repair or automotive mechanical repair industry.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Collision Estimator or Insurance Appraiser.
  • Preferred qualifications include Class A Motor Vehicle Technician or apprentice, Class B Body Repair Technician or apprentice, Certification in Motive Power Technology, or Basic Estimating Course.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Possess advanced technical knowledge of vehicle damage analysis.
  • Exhibit advanced negotiation skills and investigative logic.
  • Bring progressive experience in training, mentoring, and coaching employees.
