Position Overview:
As an Equipment Breakdown Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting insurance policies related to equipment breakdown. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong technical background who are eager to transition into the insurance industry. You will be trained to evaluate the risk of machinery and equipment failures, determine appropriate coverage, and ensure that clients have the best solutions for their needs.
What you will do:

Assess the risk associated with equipment breakdowns, focusing on electrical, mechanical, and technological components.

Learn to price insurance policies and recommend appropriate terms and coverage for clients.

Communicate with clients and brokers to gather information on machinery specifications and maintenance history.

Collaborate with internal teams to tailor insurance solutions based on technical knowledge of equipment.

Monitor and maintain ongoing policies, ensuring they are aligned with the evolving needs of clients.

Stay informed on industry developments, including trends in machinery, technology, and equipment.

What you will bring:

Strong technical aptitude in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or technology fields, with a passion for learning.

A curiosity about the insurance industry, and an eagerness to develop a career in underwriting.

Ability to analyze and interpret technical data related to machinery and equipment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-experts.

Detail-oriented and organized, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills and grow professionally.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and an ability to adapt to underwriting software.

A degree or certification in electrical, mechanical, technology, or a related field is a plus, but not required.
