TCM is a policyholder owned P & C business located in Strathroy near London, Ontario. It provides farm, residential, commercial and automobile insurance products and services and annually writes over $7 million GWP. The founding companies, East Williams Mutual, Lobo Mutual and Ekfrid Mutual were all over 100 years old when they amalgamated effective January 1, 2001 The company, due to pooled financial resources with other mutual insurance companies, is financially strong and able to offer a variety of innovative insurance products through a group of dedicated Agents and area Brokers. It also is a part owner in MIDD-WEST Financial Services. TCM participates in the Mutuals Guarantee Fund, formed in 1975, that places the surplus of all member companies behind any one of the members. Mutual insurance companies also own their own reinsurance company The Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan Inc. and is the first Canadian-owned reinsurance company formed in 1959. The company has been a long-time supporter of the Provincial (OMIA) and National (CAMIC) Associations of Mutual Insurers and the Farm Mutual Reinsurance Plan.
