Working with a leading Brokerage that is looking for a Commercial Broker for their Affinity Markets. Title: Commercial Broker -Affinity Markets
Location: Toronto or Ottawa (Hybrid).
This role is a great way to share and build expertise across multiple kinds of insurance, hone your negotiation skills and advance your technical knowledge to facilitate business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Speaking with existing and potential clients to discuss their insurance needs
- Identifying the appropriate policy options for the client and communicating these
- Reviewing policy documentation and communicating coverage details with clients
- Advising clients on risk management initiatives, including the opportunity to deliver virtual and/or in-person information sessions.
- Advising clients on when and how to make a claim on their policy
- Liaising with insurance partners, including Insurers, Adjusters, Claims handlers, Legal, and others
- Preparing reports for clients and other stakeholders
- Maintaining and building client relationships
- Obtain/sort documents and information quickly
- Proficient in data entry and strong attention to detail
Qualifications
- RIBO license with 2+ years of experience working at a brokerage in commercial lines.
- Experience with E&O, CGL, and office package coverages
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, Teams, Excel
- Computer efficiency and ability to learn to use new software systems
- Prior experience working in an office or in a team environment
- Customer service experience
- Strong phone skills including listening and documenting information
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- A positive attitude and a willingness to share knowledge and insight with the team
- Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence decisions and gain agreement and support.
- A results-oriented professionalism with a strong work ethic
