We’re looking for a Director, Alberta & BC Claims to join our team and take the lead in delivering top-notch claims handling and exceptional service.

  • Inspire and guide a regional claims team, ensuring operations meet industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee complex claims, large loss reporting, and audit processes to maintain excellence in claims handling.
  • Be the face of SGI CANADA for brokers, repair networks, legal professionals, and regulators.
  • Foster strong relationships and act as the key collaborator on claims-related projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion service excellence, responding to escalated customer concerns and ensuring transparency in claims handling.
  • Innovate and implement solutions that make the claims process smooth, efficient, and customer friendly.
  • Align claims operations with corporate strategies, manage resources effectively, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepare budgets, monitor risks, and develop processes that set the standard in the industry.
  • Mentor and develop your team, building future leaders and fostering a culture of accountability and success.

Typically, these skills are gained through:

  • A four-year degree in Business or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience, including 6 years of leadership and 4 years in a senior insurance role.
  • Expertise in Alberta’s insurance legislation and claims handling for auto and property insurance.
  • A proven track record of collaboration, innovation, and delivering exceptional results.
  • Outstanding communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
